Interview Themes – Mexico a tribal culture of violence? - Little News - Few best Christmas memories.
1) Is tribal violence in Mexico like Afghanistan as much a part of their cultures as inalienable rights are a part of America’s traditions, values and principles?
Consider Bernal Diaz’s THE CONQUEST OF NEW SPAIN translated with introduction by J.M. Cohen – Penguin Books excerpt from “Introduction”.
He (Bernal Diaz) has no misgivings as to the right of conquest, or as to the justice of the severities inflicted on the natives. He is still the soldier of the Cross; and those who fell by his side in the fight were martyrs for the faith. “Where are my companions?” he asks; “they have fallen in battle or been devoured by the cannibals, or been thrown to fatten the wild beasts in their cages! … for they died in the service of God and of His Majesty; and to give light to those who sat in the darkness …” (end excerpt)
Many may have never learned that largest society in human history organized around cannibalism were Aztecs who were also know as cultural assimilators not inventers or creators.
One has only review Mexico’s history between Cortes’ conquests to contemporary cartels’ increasing acts of violence, to understand Mexico’s continuing cultural history guided by tribal violence. Perhaps Americans should learn from failures in Iraq and Iran before wasting American blood and treasure in Mexico?
2) Reports are that Mexico’s cartels have been taking control of segments of Mexico’s tourist industry and other industries. Example, reports suggest that cartels have been making inroads into Mexico’s mining industry too export ore to China in return for chemicals to manufacture methamphetamines. Reports suggest that might one reason that Mexico’s Marines have been physically taking control of some Mexican ports.
3) Something to think about: definition of accessory is one who facilitates commission of crime or crimes by another or others. Question – is any American who supports America’s Southern porous border; amnesty for illegal immigrants; Dream Act or any other enticements for illegal immigrants to criminally enter America; accessories to millions of violent and property crimes against millions of Americans and legal residents?
Accessories to specific crimes like murder, sexual assault; kidnapping; extortion; women and child sexual slavery; distribution of illegal narcotics; related gang violence crimes; DUI related deaths and injuries; domestic violence against women and children plus other violent and property crimes listener can list. Brutal truth is illegal immigrants would not be committing these crimes on Americans and legal residents if illegal immigrants were not on U.S. soil.
Supporting presence of illegal immigrants on American soil seems to make one an accessory to all their violence and property crimes. What say you listener?
