Marshall’s Law Dateline – Most Americans cannot identify four most implemented foreign policy strategies.
Purpose of foreign policy is to protect country’s national security.
Definition of pragmatism is process of thought to guide actions by consequences.
Definition of ideology is set of beliefs and or opinions that shapes the way an individual or group thinks, acts, or understands the world.
Types of foreign policy strategies:
1. “Hide behind walls of a fort” until enemy goes away, like contemporary Libertarians.
2. Imperialist ideology based on boundary free nations to acquire internationalist corporate fascist profits - like Obama Republicans also known as RINOs or Bush Clan loyalists like their “free trade” policies in China, Iraq, and Mexico
3. Imperialist ideology based on internationalist anti-America Marxist-Fascists like Obama and his Progressive Liberal Democrat allies.
4. Pragmatism with objectives of national security and domestic tranquility. Best example is President Washington’s “Farwell Address”. Reference some excerpts from America’s greatest President.
It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it …
Taking care always to keep ourselves, by suitable establishments, on a respectable defensive posture, we may safely trust to temporary alliances for extraordinary emergencies.
Harmony, liberal intercourse with all nations, are recommended by policy, humanity, and interest. But even our commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand; neither seeking nor granting exclusive favors or preferences …
Constantly keeping in view, that it is folly in one nation to look for disinterested favors from another nation …
There can be no greater error than to expect or calculate upon real favors from nation to nation. It is an illusion which a just pride ought to discard.
I warn against the mischief’s of foreign intrigue to guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism … our country, under all circumstances of the case, has a right to take, and is bound in duty and interest to take a neutral position.
End of excerpts, reader might review Washington’s entire speech for more education on what should be America’s foreign policy strategies.
Another example of foreign policy strategy that was good for America involves President Reagan’s actions.
1. Strategy to win America’s Cold War by starting weapons spending race that would eventually bankrupt Soviet Union.
2. “Trust but verify “standards”
3. Actions after Beirut bombing were
4. Support for Contras in Central America
5. Others reader can list
Old intelligence industry adage is: The tyrant may be a S.O.B.; but he is our S.O.B.
Many ask should America trust Russia’s Putin. Answer is no, but Putin being a pragmatist is more predictable and subject to negotiations Americans can live with.
Obama’s handling of his running off at the mouth “red line” fiasco re-affirms that Obama’s inexperience, incompetency, and spontaneous ideology driven foreign policies makes Obama a greater threat to America than Russia’s Putin of Islamic-fascist terrorists.
Consider scorecard from Obama’s “red line”, and military hating Secretary of State John Kerry’s spontaneous “turnover gas” and everyone will be happy blunder. America’s lost respect and influence in world politics. Putin dominated public relations skirmish, and increased Russia’s influence in world politics.
Still “on going talk in back alleys and bars” is that Saudis provided sarin gas to Syria rebels to frame Syria’s government to get America to attack wrong bad guy in gassing of innocent civilians.
Obama took the bait as dog in heat that sees a fire hydrant. Obama’s solution punish Syrians by killing more innocent civilians in bombing raids than were originally killed by sarin. Incident which no yet completed investigation can report who deployed the gas or if gas resulted form random artillery round.
Irony question, if rebels using gas provided by Saudis were responsible for attack? What happens then, do rebels get to keep their sarin gas and Syria still has to turn over Syria’s sarin gas?
Another irony question, why is more humane to allow one hundred thousand plus civilians and children to have their arms and legs blown off, and or be disemboweled by shrapnel than having fifteen hundred being killed by sarin?
Back to dissecting Obama’s foreign policy, primary standards for Americans should be: is tolerating vain, arrogant, immature, make it up as they go along leaders who get themselves, their families, friends, and country murdered being much smarter than those causing the problem?
Foreign policy strategies and tactics should be like playing chess guided by pragmatism evaluating both sides’ current moves, future, moves, losses and gains.
Idealism motivated foreign policy is like playing games with a child who makes up rules as game is played. In a loser can die world, ideology can generate motives based on self blinding: vanity; revenge; greed; fear; lust for power without regard to consequences in an environment where self preservation is primary goal.
Question are following simplistic concepts in correct order? YES / NO
- react to response
- prepare response
- tactics
- strategy
- objectives
- define exit criteria
- acceptable loses
- costs
- define winning
- goal
Another question, regarding title “: Dissecting Obama’s Foreign Policy”; only thing worse that arrogant annoying fool is arrogant dangerous fool. Obama’s Marxist-fascist ideology combined with Obama’s character frailties of vanity; revenge; greed; lust for power; and fear make Obama’s foreign policies (reader can fill in blank). TRUE or FALSE
Clue: Marty Robbins legendary gunfighter Mr. Shorty’s advice: “Ready and waiting … beat them before they start”.
